Support us

Many of the young people that come to us have suffered physical, emotional or sexual abuse.  We provide a safe place to live for those who, quite simply, have nowhere else to turn.  With your support, we can help them to overcome their past and we can equip them with the skills and confidence they need to face their future with hope.

Your support is vital in helping us to make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.

Your support can help transform children's lives for the better, children like Andrew.

Andrew was born and raised in Peckham, South London; in a community blighted by gang culture and youth violence.

Despite trying his best to avoid conflict, Andrew was stabbed and shot by gang members from a rival ‘turf’. Against the odds, Andrew survived and after being discharged from hospital, he was referred to an emergency bed at St Christopher’s as it was not safe for him to return home.

With the help of his keyworker from St Christopher’s, Andrew adjusted to living independently; he learned how to budget, to cook and most importantly, how to keep himself safe.  He enrolled in a local secondary school and achieved two As and a B in his AS-level Maths, English and Business Studies courses.  Andrew is determined to achieve further success and since then has taken part in London’s Youth Leadership programme and has recently started a voluntary placement as a teaching assistant in a local primary school.

With the help of St Christopher’s, Andrew was able to turn his life around.

So many of our young people have been badly let down by people that should care for them. Please help us get them back on their feet again.
