At St Christophers fostering we offer

• A competitive fostering allowance. As well as your fostering fee, we pay additional payments to help you support the children in your care.
• Comprehensive 24/7 support. Our Supervising Social Workers can dedicate their time to support you because they have manageable workloads. This includes an out of hours service, where you can always contact and speak to a social worker or a manager after 5pm and over the weekend.
• St Christophers Ambassador Scheme – Our scheme offers perks to our carers, with a generous cash incentive for carer recommendation and a Loyalty bonus for all our carers after every yearly carer review.
• Therapeutic Service – All our carers have access to therapeutic support or individual sessions with our therapists to help with the children they care for.
• Support workers – We have a team of support workers who support our foster carers. They will provide activities for children and offer day breaks for carers.
• Educational services. – At St Christophers, we have access to our education team in our residential services, who can support our families.
• Comprehensive training programme. Our foster carer training will help you to further your knowledge and develop your skills in fostering. Bespoke training is possible for carers who may need specific skills for children in their care.
• Advocating for young people. We know that foster carers are great advocates for children, and we will support you to achieve the best outcomes for children.
• Our charitable status. Peace of mind that our surplus income is reinvested, rather than distributed amongst shareholders and investors

Additional payments

• In addition to the weekly fees, St Christophers foster carers receive extra payments to help cover the cost of significant events that occur while children are in placement. We know that special occasions such as religious festivals (e.g. Eid, Diwali, Christmas etc.), the child’s birthday and school holidays can be expensive. As such, if you have children in placement over these periods you will receive additional payments to help cover the costs
• Foster carers can receive up to £1400, if they refer a friend who is approved by the agency
• Foster carers will receive £500 as a loyalty bonus every year
