Fostering in Walsall
Are you a potential foster carer in Walsall?
In Walsall there are 650 children in the care of the local authority. Around 75% of these young people will live with foster carers, and we want to make sure they all have the chance at a brighter future. That’s why we are looking for new foster families across the area.
At St Christopher’s we don’t expect our foster carers to do everything on their own – we have a fostering community that you can be a part of.
We think it’s important for children living with foster carers to spend time with other young people their own age. This teaches them important social skills and helps them make friends outside of school. That’s why we run monthly activities for the children living with our foster carers in the West Midlands – and they always say it’s one of their favourite things about living with us.

'I had considered fostering with my Local Authority but I was put off by how big and impersonal they are. When I found St Christopher’s I liked that they were a small organisation so you can speak to the same staff members every time – I much prefer knowing who I’m talking to and it means they can offer more relevant support. Everyone is so friendly and helpful.'
