Fostering in Birmingham
St Christopher’s is looking for people who want change the life of a child or young person in their city by fostering.
More than 1,800 children in Birmingham are in the care of the local authority. Most of these young people live with foster families – families who take care of them and support them to reach their full potential.
Sometimes children in care are separated from their siblings because there isn’t a family who can take care of all of them at the same time. Foster children all need their own bedroom, so there is a special need to find foster homes with more than one spare bedroom.
If you become a foster carer in Birmingham, you will attend training sessions and support groups at our local office in West Bromwich. There you can meet other foster carers from the West Midlands and attend events for all the family, like arts and crafts activities.
