New foster families join St Christopher’s

Foster carers from Future Families have now officially transferred over to St Christopher’s. This means we now have 17 more foster homes for children and young people.

St Christopher’s acquired Future Families fostering agency in summer 2018. Since then the teams have been working in the West Midlands office together and merging their processes, activities and events so that the carers and young people from both agencies can get to know each other.

Now that the 17 households have moved over, with one still outstanding, St Christopher’s has 39 foster families in the West Midlands and 62 in total. This means we can offer 75 foster homes to children and young people.

This growth helps us work towards our overarching strategic objective of creating brighter futures for double the number of children and young people and the first aim of creating more excellent homes, fostering and support as we can now work with more children and young people.

Head of Fostering Annette Richards said: “I want to say a huge welcome to all the foster carers and children that are now officially part of St Christopher’s! This truly was one big team effort and a great example of what we can achieve when we work together on a project.

“I am so pleased to be working with these brilliant, talented foster carers to change the lives of children and young people in the West Midlands.”
