Architects become gardeners to transform children’s home

On Thursday 25 October, a team of volunteers from architectural firm M Moser Associates picked up their tools and set to work clearing the garden at one of St Christopher’s homes. Their help has taken us one step closer to opening a new home for young care leavers in Hammersmith.

St Christopher’s Fellowship is refurbishing the four-storey building inside and out. When the work is complete, it will provide accommodation for young people leaving care who are ready to live more independently. The garden had become quite overgrown and Chris, Richard and the team at M Moser did a brilliant job clearing away the weeds and getting it ready to be paved and re-planted.

Richard Fisher, an Associate at M Moser Associates said: “It was a fantastic opportunity to work with the local community, helping to improve outdoor space for children and young people in care. The team had a great day and we look forward to continuing our support for St Christopher’s Fellowship in the future.”

Ellie Stewart, St Christopher’s Fundraising Manager said: “We’re so grateful for M Moser’s support of St Christopher’s. Their hard work means our young people will have a great outdoor space to spend time in. It’s a key part of our transformation of the building into a home where young people will feel proud of where they live.”
