We offer comprehensive support to all our foster carers including:
- supervision and support from a qualified and experienced social worker
- access to St Christopher's Fostering support team 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
- frequent visits from your social worker
- regular telephone contact with your social worker
- regular foster carer support group meetings
- education consultants to help you promote the foster child's education welfare
- access to psychological and therapeutic consultation to help understand and manage the behaviour of children
- a complete and on-going fostering training programme, including our support to gain recognition of your skills through the Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) induction standards, Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) vocational qualifications, Support and Development (TSD) Standards for foster care and other relevant qualifications
- generous financial support that values your skills
- up to 21 days respite depending upon the child's and your needs.
