Are you a foster carer registered with another foster agency?
Thinking about transferring agency or becoming a specialist foster carer?

Transferring to St Christopher's
There are lots of reasons why foster carers decide to change foster agency, but some may think that the process is too difficult. However, you should know that every foster carer has the right to change agency and the process may be simpler than you think.
Every fostering agency should follow a transfer protocol, devised by the Fostering Network, that helps to guide foster carers between agencies.
When you ask to transfer to us, we meet with you to discuss your current circumstances and the reasons why you are considering transferring to another agency.
We advise you on the various ways you can transfer to St Christopher's without adversely affecting the children in your care, causing any breaks in your approval or damaging important working relationships.
How easy is it to transfer?
If you do not have a foster child in placement and are considering transferring the process is relatively simple.
If you have foster children placed with you, the first consideration must always be to not disrupt their placement. In the majority of cases, following a protocol meeting with the Placing Authority, an agreement can be reached for the foster children to transfer with you.
If you are considering transferring foster agency, find out more about the benefits of fostering with St Christopher's or contact our friendly staff on 0800 234 6282. We will explain the process and answer any questions that you might have.
Alternatively you can contact us by email on fostering@stchris.org.uk or register your interest online.
