The future

Our work in the 21st century is based on the same values that led our founders to set up the first projects for homeless young people in Victorian times. Children are still being abused. People are still sleeping rough. We are working harder than ever to give people what should be their basic rights: a place to call home, an education, a better future.

We are dedicated to using research and evidence-based practice to ensure improved outcomes for all our service users. We are building on the excellent foundations we have already set in linking our different services, e.g. care and education, to work together for the greater benefit of our service users.

We are proud of our record of working closely in partnership with commissioning authorities and finding innovative solutions to meet the increasingly complex needs of service users. We are currently working with a London borough to pilot a groundbreaking new initiative aimed at reducing youth homelessness, and with two other local authorities to open assessment centres aimed at improved outcomes for homeless young people.

We are constantly broadening our range of services and variety of partners. Over the next few years, we plan to become a leading national service provider for young people and adults in need, with a presence throughout the UK and beyond.

As well as improving and expanding all our services, we are developing innovative ways of helping the people in our care, based on the best practice in the field and by the best research.

As we continue the pursuit of excellence in service delivery, our user involvement initiative keeps us at the leading edge of charitable work by ensuring that we stay in touch with our service users and their changing needs.
