Floating support

Our floating support services have scored 6 'A's in the Quality Assessment Framework. They are designed to help young people to gain and maintain independence, increase their confidence and self-esteem, and empower young people to develop into the individuals they want to be. Our floating support services offer the comprehensive range of support that we provide to our residential users.

Support Officers offer regular key work sessions with an individual support plan, providing flexible support at the service user's home, or in other venues if preferred.

Our services are designed to meet individual needs. They include:

• housing support and tenancy sustainment
• income maximisation
• education, training and employment
• general counselling
• life skills
• budgeting
• building links and becoming established in an area
• signposting to relevant professional services
• identifying and developing cultural identity
• increasing independence.

Our highly skilled floating support officers have backgrounds in all the relevant areas such as housing, advice and support, domestic violence, mental health, learning disabilities, substance misuse, working with asylum seekers and care leavers. Each team has access to life skills, education training and employment services, as well as access to interpreting services. We have proven experience of working successfully with this age group, and a proven track record of working in partnership with external agencies.

Floating support service users are referred to us from housing associations, local authorities, resettlement teams and social services. Young people can also request our services.
