Safe and sound in Greenwich

6 December 2007

Our Greenwich service users and staff saw the year out with another successful forum in their area office last week.

St Christopher's Greenwich Health Forum had something for everybody: a wide array of interesting displays, activities, goodies and friendly advice. Everything you could want to stay physically safe and mentally calm, all in one place.

There were health-related free samples, magazines and recipe books. Among the unforgettable highlights of the day were the wonderful, immune-boosting, flu-fighting smoothies.

Many thanks are due to all those who came to offer help, advice and support across a wide range of health-related issues, including

  • Stuart and Kelly from Edo Judo Kwai in Eltham, on physical fitness, self defence and a centred mind
  • Patricia from KCA, on drug and alcohol abuse
  • Jane from Homesafe/Sanctuary , on domestic violence
  • Angela of Victim Support, for anyone affected by crime
  • Julian from Telecare, on personal alarms
  • Steve from Greenwich PCT, on sexual health, relationships and local services.

This enjoyable, informative and well attended event was a timely reminder to take care of ourselves in every way.
