We are pleased to announce that, following the recent review process, St Christopher’s has retained its Investor in People status and was given a glowing report by the assessor.
The assessor looked in detail at our planning processes, how we involve people in decision-making, the training and development opportunities we offer and how we evaluate training to ensure it meets the needs of the individual and the organisation.
He was particularly impressed by
- the high level of consultation with people throughout St Christopher's
- our SMART business development plans that enable learning needs to be prioritised
- the commitment from the top of St Christopher's to developing people, whatever their role
- the emphasis on empowerment and ownership, along with a leadership culture that encourages people to take part in decision-making, and to contribute ideas to improve the performance of St Christopher's
- the descriptions people gave at all levels to illustrate the effectiveness of leadership, including the regular use of structured supervisions
- the induction for people joining the organisation, returning after a break, or taking on new responsibilities.
Work has already begun on the suggestions the assessor made to help us evaluate our training, so we can continue to improve the way we work in the future.
