Recruitment drive for young people in Hackney

6 September 2007

St Christopher’s Training has launched a significant recruitment drive for 16–19 year-olds in the Hackney and Islington areas.

The summer is coming to an end. This is the time when young people go back to school or begin their first days of work or college life.

However, not all teenagers achieved the exam results they hoped for. Many young people have neither a job nor a place in education to look forward to this autumn. For those young people in the London boroughs of Hackney and Islington, St Christopher’s Training is now offering a variety of exciting opportunities.

Young people without skills or qualifications even in basic literacy or numeracy now have a chance of a future in industries such as construction, business and administration, customer care, retail, hospitality and IT.
Through a mixture of training, work experience, advice and guidance, St Christopher’s Training has the recipe to provide real opportunities for these young people.

  • an achievement bonus of £100
  • childcare allowance
  • travel allowance
  • work placements
  • grants for tools, work clothing, etc.
  • qualifications
  • further training

For further information, contact Meena 0207 249 2911 or Joe 07894 386365 or drop in to Room 205, the Colour Works, 2 Abbot Street, Hackney E8 3DP.

St Christopher’s Training has joined forces with the Hackney Hype, the local young people’s website, to spread the word about the opportunities on offer. http://www.thehype.info/training.html
