A rock band comprising one staff member and two service users from St Christopher's was one of the highlights of the Milton Keynes Volunteers Fair last weekend.
The band began by playing Oasis songs, and the quality of the music drew a large crowd. Many then visited the St Christopher’s stand, where other service users were there to meet members of the public, talk about their own personal success stories, and hand out our information packs.
The material available on the stand included the St Christopher’s Homeless DVD, leaflets on abuse, dealing with anti-social behaviour, the service users participation strategy, our service standards, a guide to complaints and positive feedback, guides to looking good, feeling good, the protection of vulnerable adults, sex and relationships, our repairs service charter, a guide to being a service user representative, a leaflet on Milton Keynes housing and support services, St Christopher’s Working for a Brighter Future, and information about all our services.
The annual fair is a popular event in Milton Keynes, and this year’s was a great success, thanks in no small part to the talent of our musicians.
