Plumstead Manor young philanthropists get HIP

24 July 2009

Plumstead Manor pupils involved in the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) have won £3000 for our Homeless Intervention Project (HIP).

The YPI is an international programme designed to develop community leaders of the future and to raise awareness of the work of grassroots charities. Pupils are given a hands-on experience of philanthropy that highlights the positive impact they can have on their communities and provides them with the tools to lead.

Pupils were asked to identify the charity they thought most deserving of support. They then researched their chosen charity and gave a presentation to the school on why they thought it deserved to win the prize of a £3,000 grant.

We are extremely grateful to the pupils who won this challenge on our behalf and the money will be used to further improve HIP.
