St Christopher's service users inspire new novel

4 June 2009

Earlier this year St Christopher's was approached by author Polly Courtney for advice and assistance in developing her third novel, 'The Day I Died'. Central to the plot is an organisation that works with children and young people and Polly wanted to ensure that she portrayed the characters accurately.

Natalie and Charlotte, both users of St Christopher's Milton Keynes services, allowed Polly to interview them about their experiences. They were consulted throughout the writing process and helped out with early drafts of the characters.

On 20 May Natalie and Charlotte attended the book launch party, accompanied by three very proud staff members, where Polly presented them with mp3 players as a thank you for their help.

Additionally, St Christopher's receives an acknowledgement in the book itself and Polly has kindly made a donation via our website.
