Limegrove football team goes from strength to strength

10 March 2008

Carlton McCleod, ex-resident of Limegrove Hostel has won the coveted Coaches Player of the Season award in the Street League.

Street League works to transform the lives of disadvantaged men and women in the UK using the power of sport.

Limegrove Hostel has for many years fielded a team in the Street League and residents have enjoyed the training, games and competitions that Street League offers. The Coaches Player of the Season is a much sought-after award voted for by the coaches of Street League. Carlton was recently announced the worthy winner at the David Beckham Football Academy.

On the same day the Limegrove football team manager and technical director Fiona O’Dell played on the winning side in the Women’s Cup competition. Fiona is a strong advocate of football being a positive diversionary activity and much of the success of Limegrove’s football team is down to her dedication and enthusiasm.

Congratulations to Carlton and Fiona!
