New Head of Fostering

We are delighted to welcome Marcelle Ibbetson to St Christopher’s as Head of Fostering.

Marcelle was previously Service Development Manager for Family Placement at NCH, and has nearly 30 years experience in child and family social work, adoption and fostering.

Marcelle is very pleased to be joining St Christopher’s at a time when the organisation is committed to developing its fostering services.

Marcelle said:

‘There is a great need for fostering services committed to doing everything possible to help every child in care reach their potential. St Christopher’s has a team of committed foster carers and staff who believe passionately in working together for the benefit of the children and young people placed, towards excellent outcomes.

‘St Christopher’s provides a range of services and has a wealth of experience in supporting young people, which gives our fostering services an added advantage. Young people are supported by education and health workers, they can access opportunities for training, and they are prepared for adulthood through being encouraged towards independence. Our foster carers can work closely with other professionals to ensure they offer the young people in their care all the support they need.’
