Outstanding!

The aim of the day was to support the tenancy involvement initiative run by their landlord, Bedfordshire Pilgrims Housing Association (BPHA) and to combat the negative publicity that St Christopher's Downhead Park service had received in the past.

To tie in with the introduction of the ban on smoking in public places introduced in England this month, St Christopher's non-smoking staff have produced a special edition of Stepping Out, the service users' newsletter. Stubbing Out features information about the dangers of smoking, details of all the nasty additives in the average cigarette, and help for those who want to give up. In 2005 we piloted an innovative email-text messaging system that enables young people in our supported housing to contact their housing support officers through text messages.
