A St Christopher's carer in the Eastern Region has has put forward 12 potential new foster carers since she started fostering with us in 2016. Nine of these referrals are now in assessment and we can usually expect around 90% of candidates to be approved once they are at this stage.
Staff in the Eastern Region fostering team wanted to acknowledge this carer's commitment to fostering and St Christopher's, so they presented her with a bunch of flowers to say thank you.
When our carers talk about fostering, their passion shines through – and it makes other people want to get involved. It's a challenging but rewarding role where you support a young person to reach their full potential.
You don't need any formal qualifications to become a foster carer. You need at least one spare bedroom, a driving licence, and the time, patience and compassion to support a vulnerable young person.? At the moment we are looking for carers across the West Midlands, Essex, Peterborough and London.
