St Christopher’s new inner London residential children’s home opens today. The new home forms part of a planned programme of expansion for St Christopher’s.
The home caters for young people aged 12-17 (up to 16 on admission) and puts into practice the latest research into the care of looked after children. St Christopher’s recently participated in the Department for Education's Social Pedagogy project for children’s residential care and piloted a Behaviour Management Programme and Attachment Style Interviews in association with the Lifespan Research Group, now based at Kingston University, London.
“St Christopher’s is confident in its child care practice, which has been affirmed by Ofsted as providing high quality care and support,” Ron Giddens Director of Operations at St Christopher’s said, speaking before the opening. “The home that was the focus of the pilot programme subsequently achieved an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted inspection result.”
Both fast track and planned admissions will be on offer for more information call 0800 234 6282.
“We strongly believe that residential care is a positive placement choice for many young people,” Giddens concludes.
