Sometimes a parent, often a young mother, needs support in the early months to learn how to look after her baby. The foster carer's role is to support and coach the mother to look after the baby herself.
In some cases the foster carer will input into the preparation of the assessment report for court that will determine whether the child is to remain in the care of the mother, or perhaps be adopted. In this instance you will have extra support to help you prepare your contribution to the final report.
