Measuring distance travelled

St Christopher’s use the Outcomes Star to identify support needs, agree priorities and measure distance travelled by the young people in our supported housing services.

The Star looks at all areas of a young person’s life and asks the young person and their support officer to reflect on where they are in relation to attitudes and behaviour.

An initial reading is taken with the young person when they first start working with us.  This provides a benchmark for future readings.  Initial readings are plotted onto the young person’s Star and feed directly into their support plan.  Subsequent readings enable their progress to be visually demonstrated.

The Outcome Star allows us to benchmark within and across our own services as well as against national averages.
